When D’s grandmother contacted me to do this session I was so excited since we were planning on shooting at the local “Storybook Gardens” (and yes, it’s just as cute as it sounds!) But a few days before the session vandals did tens of thousands of dollars in damage to it. So we had a slight change of plans and decided to try the local botanical gardens instead. Miss D is such a sweetheart (as were her mom, dad and grandma!) At first she was a little apprehensive but she warmed up and we got some good giggles thanks to mom playing Peek-a-Boo behind my back! We finished just in time too as another round of thunderstorms were rolling in (isn’t that the story of the summer – dodging raindrops?)

This is one of my absolute favorite shots. I can remember when our kids were little and they would snuggle down just like that!

I promise I’ll do a proper sneak peek later, but I couldn’t resist posting this. I love all my clients. I do. They are amazing people! But this little girl really has my heart! Ok, so this is a little late and C is almost a month old now! I’m sorry for the tardiness, but I assure you I have very good reasons!) Some of you have seen a sneak peek on facebook, but for those of you not there, here you go!

Little C was born July 2nd and we got the chance to meet her when she was just 2 weeks old! What can I say about her? She’s so sweet, and such a good baby (she slept almost the entire time we were visiting!) Our kids were enthralled and Teagan still talks about Baby C and asks for a baby sister of her own! And CJ is such a great big brother; he is obviously very proud of his little sister and loves her very much.

Ok, so this is a few days late. We’ve been so busy this summer lately that there hasn’t been much of a chance for much blogging! We did have a wonderful 4th though. Friends, family, laughter and pony rides – can you get better than that?

Last year at this time we were getting ready to cover Maria & Donnie’s wedding! This year they called me to photograph their anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been a year already! They are always so much fun to work with and we always end up laughing a lot. We went back to the Chestnut Inn for the session (which is also where Drew and I had our wedding reception, so it will always hold a special place in my heart!)

They brought the top of their wedding cake to eat to celebrate (hey, it’s tradition, right?) And opened up the aluminum foil to find this…

I thought she was going to attack him with it!

But Maria played nice and they still ate it (at least a few bites)! (And we were laughing so hard at this point that I could barely see through the viewfinder!)

It was so great to meet B and his mom the other day! He is just the cutest little guy (and not so little, really!) Here’s a couple of my favorites (and one I couldn’t resist sharing because his expression just cracks me up!!)

Yesterday I was packing up my equipment to head off to Kate & Viren’s wedding. We had some topsoil delivered the day before for our garden and the kids had been having a blast playing in it. The previous days I had made sure the kids were fully dressed, including socks and shoes (which could be taken off outside before coming in) but yesterday they were in various stages of undress while playing in the dirt. Colin came over to kiss me goodbye covered from head to toe in dirt – it looked like he had taken a mudbath! I wanted one picture in particular, but all my good equipment was packed (including all my backup lenses). The only thing I had out was my little XTi and 50mm 1.4 lens. I grabbed it and hoped he hadn’t gone far. Luckily he was still on the deck waiting for his goodbye kiss and I shot a few quick frames.

Every once in a while I get the itch to change up my portfolio a bit. This is one of those times!

So… I’m on the lookout for some new models! This particular search is for newborns – ages 0-3 months. If you’re chosen you’ll recieve a complimentary session at my studio near Hancock, NY and an 8×10 of your favorite image from the session. I do ask for a signed model release, allowing me to use the images for my portfolio.
